Haitian DJ, producer, and label owner Francis Mercier is a platinum-selling artist, and one of the Caribbean’s most influential DJs in the global house scene. Known for his culturally rich, melodic take on Afro house, with a distinct global perspective, Francis Mercier is set to release his debut album entitled ‘Lakay (Home)’ on 14th July on his own label Solèy. 

Meaning ‘Home’ in Haitian Creole, ‘Lakay’ is Mercier's most personal body of work to date. Rooted in his upbringing in Port-au-Prince, and shaped by years of performing around the world, the album explores what home becomes when you spend your life constantly away from it.

Drawing inspiration from Haiti, Africa, the Middle East and beyond, Lakay blends familiar rhythms with unexpected global influences, creating a sound that feels both deeply intimate and completely borderless.

Across 20 immersive productions, Mercier channels his diasporic heritage into a rich tapestry of Afro house, melodic electronica and globally inspired rhythms. Carefully curated collaborations bring together established icons and emerging talent alike, reflecting his desire to honour the artists who have inspired him while creating opportunities for the next generation.

Standout records include the uplifting and cinematic ‘Take Me Home’ with Wyclef Jean and Kah-Lo, the soulful reimagining of ‘Show Me Love (Devotion)’ with Robin S and the infectious latest single ‘Champagne’ with Massala and LexBlaze. Together, the tracks showcase Mercier's versatility as a producer, seamlessly moving between vocal anthems, rap-led percussive club cuts and emotionally resonant epics.

Released via his own label Solèy, Lakay perfectly embodies the ethos that has come to define Francis Mercier's musical world. Meaning ‘Sun’ in Haitian Creole, Solèy is more than a record label; it's a global community rooted in multiculturalism, positivity and connection. 

Fluent in four languages, Mercier's passion for giving back to different communities around the world is as important as his musical career. This spirit of unity extends beyond the dancefloor through initiatives such as Solèy FC, a football and community platform that brings people together through sport, culture and philanthropy. Past events have raised tens of thousands for charitable causes, including the Lebanese Red Cross.
